IO-Link Device Description (IODD) file available .
The CU4 and CU4plus control units are designed for managing D4 / D4 SL mixproof valves in explosive atmospheres in food and beverage, chemicals, personal care industries and other related sectors.
This control unit acts as an interface between the process control systems and the process valves, handling both electrical and pneumatic signals. Using built-in hall or linear sensors it monitors the positions of the valves, namely their "open" and "closed" positions as well as "upper seat lift" and "lower seat lift" positions.
The CU4 and CU4plus control unit for Zone 2 is certified as increased safe "ec" according to the current standards IEC 60079-7 and IEC 60079-0 and approved for use as a Category 2 device for gas-related applications.

The Significance of ATEX, IECEx and CCC Compliance
When dealing with hazardous environments, it is crucial to use control units that adhere to the ATEX (Atmosphères Explosibles), IECEx (International Electrotechnical Commission System for Certification to Standards Relating to Equipment for Use in Explosive Atmospheres) and CCC (China Compulsory Certificate) standards.
ATEX and IECEx are global standards governing equipment that are used in potentially explosive atmospheres where flammable gases, vapors, mists, or combustible dusts may be present. These standards must be adhered to as they outline the requirements for the design, construction, testing and certification of equipment, including control units.
The CCC certification is comparable to other certifications such as ATEX and IECEx for the standardization of product quality and safety in China. It is a mandatory certification in China that certain product groups must have a CCC certificate before they can be exported to China.
Our APV’s CU4 and CU4plus valve control units for ATEX Zone 2, IECEx Zone 2 and CCC Zone 2 provide safe and precise control of pneumatically-operated sanitary valves. Our control units are designed to operate in hazardous environments with potentially explosive atmospheres. They utilize advanced position sensors and manual override solenoids for accurate valve positioning and flexibility.Ìý They are available in AS-interface, IO-link, and Direct Connect 24V DC versions, these control units ensure compliance, reliability and efficient processing in challenging zones.
